While looking around for useful resources for my projects, I stumbled upon a website called Texture Ninja. Texture Ninja is a repository of free textures that you can use for your projects, be it pre-rendered video, video games, still images or anything else.
The website is very simple and straight to the point. On one side you have a navigation tree with a lot of different categories, and on the right side you can see all the textures under that category. If you click a texture, it expands to full view and you can also download it right away.
There are a lot of categories, including blood, walls, fabrics, doors, grounds, etc. Some categories have very little content (like “fabrics”) but others have a lot of textures (like “concrete”) so there’s a chance you will find something you can use.
You can also see a category called “References”. This category is really cool because you can see some references of different things, like military equipment, engines, vehicles and Korean temples.
Texture Ninja currently has over 5100 textures, which is very impressive considering textures are free. The site is maintained by Joost Vanhoutte, a UE4 tech artist and 3D artist. He has a Patreon page, so if you feel like donating and supporting his work, that’d be more than welcome, since he’s offering all those resources for free.
