Many forms of digital art share a common tool, Adobe’s venerable Photoshop. This tool is so versatile that many think of it as... yes, I’m going there... the “Swiss Army knife” of digital art because it has so many uses. Tools seem to poke out of every menu and submenu. Even with little Photoshop experience one can use the brushes and presets to make it look like you are an experienced digital artist.
With this in mind, I was off in search of freebies, brushes in this instance, with the express purpose of adding some variety to my toolbox. Were my brushes folder to be real... it would literally bulge and barely close with all the presets, commercial and freebie, that are kept inside. Some are old, some are new, but most are tried and true... which over the years gets a bit stale so off I go looking for new brushes to stuff into the folder and maybe a few new skills along the way.
These are not listed in any particular order so don’t read any significance into it. It is just a list of freebies that might be of interest if you haven’t already been there and grabbed them.
NOTE: These brushes were downloaded and scanned with Avast before installation to Photoshop. If you aren’t familiar with installing brushes, you can import them from the Brush palette flyout or drag and drop them into the Brushes folder in your Photoshop installation.

These brushes cover a wide range of uses from nature to technical projects. Some have been around for quite a while and can be found in numerous works of digital art. If you aren’t familiar with Photoshop brushes and presets, then it would really be in your best interest to take some time to get educated on the subject so you can not only enhance your digital art skills but save time and cut down on frustration.
It’s hard to be creative if you are frustrated with your results and sometimes a simple thing like a brush, tool, or preset can provide that creative bump you needed to get over the hump and back to productivity. As I mentioned earlier all the above have been downloaded and scanned with no problems on installation into photoshop.
So... take your own precautions when downloading items and always scan anything you download to keep those nasty cyber bugs out of your system. Then load them into Photoshop and create. That’s what it’s all about anyway.
