National Geographic is known for beautiful photography of the world around us - from stunning landscapes to people of remote villages we may never see. The stories and incredible photos fill us with wonder about our planet. National Geographic continues to inspire us to get out in the world, to travel and explore.

And right now, National Geographic is looking for you to share your own images of the world: its people, places, and cultures. With the 2019 National Geographic Travel Photo Contest currently underway, not only could you inspire others, but also have a chance at some fantastic prizes.

As an artist, it's always a great idea to submit work to contests, whether or not there are actual prizes. The reasons for this include getting exposure for your work and to continuously challenge yourself. However, a good shot at some extra cash in your pocket is a definite plus.

Could it be you to grab a prize this year? Only one way to find out, so why not give it a shot? They are currently seeking images in three categories: nature, cities, and people.

There will be a grand prize of $7,500 and individual category prizes are as follows: first place winners will receive $2,500, second place winners will receive $1,500, and third place winners will receive $750.

The official rules of the contest can be found here. If you need a little inspiration, be sure to check out last year's winners gallery here

With a deadline of May 3, you'll want to get in on this soon. So, what are you waiting for? Enter the 2019 National Geographic Travel Contest here today!
