I enjoyed Siggraph this year very much. I spent four somewhat frantic days going to panels, attending demos and press luncheons, visiting the Siggraph production and art galleries and spending a lot of time on the exhibition floor talking with reps and learning about current computer graphics technology. All of it is made even better by the fact that this year's Siggraph took place in my favorite city in the world - Vancouver, B.C. It's easy to feel like you are in a cave going from one room to the next, but Vancouver's brilliantly designed convention center gives you so many opportunities to find fresh air and sunlight. I loved just watching other attendees and eavesdropping on their conversations.
The My Siggraph 2018 video is a tradition for me. I post one every year. My goal is to share a little bit of what it's like for me at the conference. I chose to edit this year's video using DaVinci Resolve 15, which was released during the conference. I found it to be incredibly intuitive and easy to use. I'll be writing a full review of this free application from Black Magic Design very soon.
Lastly, I just want to say thanks to the Renderosity management for giving me the opportunity to attend Siggraph as a journalist over the years.
